this will be a beautiful evening at miramonte lodge, a great one for inviting friends & neighbors to come and experience—art, food & beauty.

  • 1200 miramonte street, broomfield 80021
  • all levels & abilities are welcome!
  • 4 pm - gallery opens and stage presentations begin


this evening is a chance for all levels of artists to showcase their work & will include 3 broad categories--sights, stage & statements.

  • sights - visual arts, painting, photography, sculpture & other visual mediums
  • stage - music, dance, theater, comedy, film, spoken word & multimedia
  • statements - poetry, short stories, prose, fiction, non-fiction

fill out the registration form for each section you are entering & turn it in on sundays or mail to:

$5 per piece entered. deadline for submissions is august 3rd, 2008. the applications are not to “approve” your work, but to help us organize the evening & make sure everyone’s work is showcased properly! don’t be intimidated by the application!

ongoing workshops in the arts

 

workshops for 2007-2008 include categories of--collage, graffiti art, 2D-design, creative writing, improvisational dance & theater/acting.

  • COLLAGE: “you can create art!” - creating a unique work of art by applying a variety of materials to a canvas board. no drawing ability required! we provide guidance and encouragement. please bring interesting papers, photos, small pieces of fabric, small objects, etc. to use in addition to some materials which will be supplied..

  • COLLAGE: “your new year” - using a variety of techniques to create a reflection of your desires for the new year. learn to apply paint and collaged materials to a canvas board. please bring interesting papers, copies of personal photos, small pieces of fabric, small objects, etc. to use in addition to some materials which will be supplied.

  • DESIGN: “design something!” - using colors and shapes to create a personal logo or free-form work of art. learn to use letters and shapes of color as builiding blocks of design. suggestions for using your creation in other pieces and materials will be supplied.

  • GRAFFITI: “graffiti arts” - exploring the art and background of graffiti. create an "identity" piece using poetry, spray paint and collage.
    led by sam trujillo

  • CREATIVE WRITING: “write from the heart” - taking your expression of faith and thoughts about life to a deeper level through creative writing. spend an afternoon sharing and learning new methods to bring out that scribe within in a fun, non-threatening environment.

  • IMPROVISATIONAL DANCE: “dance can be worship!” - all levels welcome,age 12. exploring how our bodies can express emotion in dance and creative ways to move. whether you dance for the Lord in private or public this class is for you. please wear comfortable non binding clothes with no shoes.

  • THEATER/ACTING: “a performer’s awareness” - this workshop is a way to spend time building and/or creating awareness of you. in theatre (or life) the best tool you can bring is you. your life, body, voice, mind, and spirit.we will be doing different exercises that foster growth in each of those areas. you get to wear comfy clothes to this class - we'll have fun playing and working!
