WAYS TO GO GREEN

just some ideas:
  • buy a power strip: 25% of your energy bill comes from phantom power. by turning off the strip at night you can save this 25% in cost and energy.

  • buy energy star appliances. most of these really do conserve energy. it’s worth the research and the extra money.

  • replace conventional light-bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs: if you switched one bulb it would be the equivalent of taking 1 million cars off the road. imagine if you switched them all! plus you’ll save about $50/bulb in energy costs.

  • recycle!!! whether you pay for it through your trash service or if you can take it to your city recycling center this is an easy one.

  • don’t forget about your plastic bags!! many of us already try to reuse these as trash bags, etc. but an even better thing to do is to recycle these through a service or many grocery stores have bins you can bring your old bags to. also, try not using them at all! invest in some cloth, re-usable bags - many grocery stores give a small discount per bag that you use. often grocery stores will have these bags for sale. share rides. take the bus. walk. do anything to cut down on gas & energy waste.

  • help save paper by reducing the amount of junk mail you receive, click here to get off the lists!
